Blogger Interview # 75 : Betty

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I lived alone in Kansas and met a man online where we both posted on a forum. After about 3 years of various communication, I decided to visit him in New Zealand and ended up staying. It was more of a cultural difference than I expected, so I started My Views of New Zealand
I found so much beauty here that I started taking hundreds of photos and decided to share them with Photographing New Zealand
Incidental Imagery is a continuation of my photos with quotes and scripture added.
A year or so after I stared my first blog, I took over 'Best Posts of the Week' when the originator needed to leave.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you a full time blogger? How did you get into blogging and why?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I only blog so my friends can stay updated and share my photos. I blog a few times a week, whenever I feel I have something to share. I admire those who make a living blogging, but I don't think I could do it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blog for  yourself, no one else.  No matter what you blog about you will get some mean comments but you don't have to post them or let them make you feel bad.
Visit other blogs, leave comments and see if their reading lists interest you. You can find places to expose your blog to get a fuller audience, like memes.
I also put blog links at the bottom of my emails. I get visitors from those links occasionally.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you build a community around a blog and social media?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Getting my blog listed on list sites (that I found on other bloggers' sites) and posting my blog on FB work for me.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What are your three favorite blogs to read? What makes those blogs special?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are a variety of blogs that I read, some are Christian, some are local and some are humorous. I don't think I can pick three! It just depends on my mood which I prefer at any particular time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Which one plugin would you suggest all bloggers to have?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Plugins are not something that I, personally, find important in blogging. I blog for myself and no other reason.
